Broadford Swap Meet Easter Monday 28th March 2016
Once a year, Broadford’s Harley Hammond Reserve becomes a sea of antiquities, embracing the ye ole’ saying that one mans trash is another mans treasure.
From old car parts, tyres, signs, arts, crafts, clothing, homemade bits and pieces, collectables of varying sorts, old records to rare bottles, china, tea pots, mirrors and other odds and ends you would likely find after an archaeological dig or a day long adventure in your grandpa’s shed.
Including a classic car display section .
With the Broadford Football Netball Club and local swap meet enthusiasts at the helm, the day is long provided with endless bbq and canteen food, opportunities to take part in fundraising raffles, an entertaining MC providing music and announcements for the crowd and easy friendly assistance in setting up a stall or how to find your way around.2013 saw the Swap Meet move from a normal Sunday time slot before the RDFNL season round one to Easter Monday, a decision which may have been seen as controversial. To the credit of the experiment, an Easter Monday move proved successful with on average 230 stalls and 3000 visitors across the day,now leaving the day to be held every Easter Monday to follow.
A huge thank you to all the players that helped out over the previous years and our life members and committee who also put in a huge effort to make sure the day is a success!
The success of 2016 will again thrive on the input of our fabulous volunteers.
